Slate: The Dark Mile: Book 2 of The Slate Series

By Adam Bedard

Some knowledge can't be downloaded. It has to be earned. Slate knows these trails better than anyone. No GPS. No satellites. Just seven years of driving the same routes in all weather. When a stranded bush pilot ignores her warnings and walks straight into a frozen death trap, Slate has to make a choice: let him learn the hard way - or prove that what she knows is worth more than thirty thousand dollars of equipment. A story about experience, humility, and trusting the ones who know the way. Slate: The Dark Mile is Book 2 in The Slate Series - illustrated early reader chapter books for ages 6-8 featuring brave animal characters who tackle impossible jobs in harsh, frozen landscapes. The Slate Series: Book 1: Slate: Thin Ice Book 2: Slate: The Dark Mile Book 3: Slate: Silent Night Book 4: Slate: The Newcomer Book 5: Slate: The Choice
