From the prologue... With so much significant travel behind me, it's only natural to look back. Everyone does this after reading a certain age.... So here I am, remembering my childhood, up until age 13 or 14, in bits and pieces of prose and prose poetry. You will be disappointed if you expect to be shocked or surprised, because I had no drunken Pap to deal with nor any great fears or uncertainties inhibiting me. But you may learn what it was like growing up at a particular time (the 50s and early 60s) and place (Racine, WI) when fathers had jobs, mothers were mostly at home, and kids played outside, at least until the streetlights came on.
