Dave Simpson is a copper in central Bristol in the 1970's. His early shift on a warm June morning started normally enough and he was collecting milk from a local dairy when his radio cackled into life. The events that followed changed his career and life and gave him the nickname of "Skid".

Skid Simpson is a fictional, mainly comic view of life as a copper in the 70's written by a copper who was there. Some of the incidents described are based loosely on the authors own experiences and knowledge of policing in Bristol in the 70's.
