This is a memoir of my childhood, growing up in Fresno California in a family of twelve children. It is also the beginning of my relationship with the man I would marry. It is a story of hardship, hilarity and hope. It begins and ends with the transforming love of a man toward a young woman (me) who did not understand the truth of love. It navigates through the devastating and often confusing turns in circumstance. The story weaves through the troubling times of youth, peer pressure, sibling rivalry, family history and opens the door to the question of the future.
