Six III

I have no idea if you've read Books I and II. If you have, then hooray for you And you clearly know exactly who the "very special cat" is. A very happy cat. So is Sonny. He is fortunate that he did not come back as some sort of unhappy zombie. A revitalized Sonny has a lot to look forward to. Hooray for him But will it all be happy? Of course not. Crazy? Naturally. Sonny becomes infatuated with an exotic Hexagonzan young lady. Actually, part of her being is from a totally different species. One which most Earthlings find scary. So, Sonny is very wary. Her name is Wilhelmina, but Sonny calls her Willy. Soon after meeting, they decide to stay at Hexagonza's version of Motel 6. Sonny pulls the car in, and this takes place, as per the tale:

Sonny and Willy grabbed a few things from the car's trunk, and went inside. The manager was sitting a little ways back from the front desk, nodding off. Sonny hit his gold hand on the bell, rather hard. There was a loud clang.
The manager came to, looking wide-eyed. "Whoa, you gave me a fright."
"It's been a slow night . . . right?"
"Oh, I know you. The guy from Earth who likes to do all the rhyming, and seems to get everyone else doing it too. But guess what. I don't care much for that, and so I don't think I ever will."
"Whatever."
"Better sign in. You know the drill. Whoops."
Willy said, "We would like just one room, but with two beds."
"You're not newlyweds."
"You did it again."
"Dang."
Sonny said, "We're possibly nearlyweds."
Willy smiled. "Tonight could be sort of a dry run."
The manager nodded. "Well, I still hope you have fun. Oh . . ."
Willy shook her head. "You poor soul. You've caught the rhyming bug bad."
"Yes. But now I think I'm done."

Sonny survives the night just fine. Well now, what to do, what to do. No problem. The director of the outpost, takes care of that, as Sonny and Willy rejoin the other astronauts plus Brighton to again visit the sorcerer, Zankenstein. To be sure, he has more tricky adventures up his sleeve. Make that both sleeves, both pant legs, and inside a coat pocket as well, since there are five.

Mucho more happens, including in Beti, which is one of the six smaller crystal surrounding the big crystal, Hexagonza. A refreshment stand is spotted. Wonderful Running it are what seem to be the personifications of Father Time and Brother Time. Suspicious. But they become accepted who they were by the fact that they both had wrist watches extending the full length of both arms. Next up to meet is a dreaded entity: The Grim Reaper. He took over the stand when Father and Brother Time disappeared. Sonny asks him, quote:

"So, what heapin' happened to Father Time and Brother Time?"
"Oh, they ran out of time. Their lease expired. The poor shits."
"So where are they now?" asked Horatio.
"Fucking lost in time, I guess."
Sir Richard said, "Hmm. You talk surprisingly a tad rough."
"You have to be very tough in my business . . . the main one."
Liza asked, "Do you always work alone?"
"Actually, I have two helpers. There's the dumb Dim Reaper, who never the shit seems to be able to get his blood red eyes to glow very fucking bright, and then there is the Prim Reaper . . . who is female, of course."
Willy smirked. "I notice you didn't use a bad adjective about her."
"Oh never. I might get killed if she heard I did that. And that would get the whole universe all messed up. Ha ha."
