The book Simple and Compound Mechanical Tests on Wind Turbine Blades continues research on composite materials used in turbine blades, focusing on a small-scale GFRP model. It examines the different loads acting on blades during operation. To evaluate structural behavior, finite element analysis was performed with E-glass composite properties, simulating bending, torsion, and combined loads. Based on the results, strain gauges were strategically placed to capture critical responses. Experimental tests were then conducted under controlled loading and unloading conditions. Strain data were collected with strain gauges and advanced acquisition systems, allowing the calculation of principal strains and stresses, as well as their orientations. This combined numerical and experimental approach provides valuable insight into the performance and durability of wind turbine blades.
