Very cute, I know I’m several years late on this but that’s just me, forever late to the party. Overall a pretty quick and enjoyable read. The only person I didn’t like was Leah, can anyone tell me if she gets better in the other books or is she just…like that? I never figured out her baggage and honestly, she was a pretty bad friend to Simon throughout. And obviously she’s a poor friend to Abby, Leah doesn’t even want to be friends with her! Because Abby is pretty, smart, and talented? I dunno Leah, that’s not very women supporting women of you. Do some self reflecting, figure out that internalized misogyny, and call us when you’re better, sweetie. I’m rooting for you. Oh and honestly Martin was a jerk too. I can completely understand how Simon was kinda friends with Martin, kinda not, as someone who suffers a tendency to be friends with people who are not kind to me. It’s the people pleaser in me. But honestly cut him out of your group, Simon! Threatening to out people, especially in ah, less progressive areas, is so unbelievably vicious. Sorry not sorry but Martin is a monster. All this, by the way, to try to push his advances on a girl who did not want his romantic attention! Also making a whole bunch of excuses for himself in his “apology” email to Simon that was basically all “I was in a weird space” and he was bizarrely resentful to his parents accepting his older brother coming out as gay? Try again. I know I spent all of this review complaining about the two people I didn’t like but honestly it was good! I would definitely read the other books in the series.

YA has been waiting for this book ...!

When I first finished this book, I immediately read it twice more that day. The plot is engaging and really touching, yet without being overly sappy or painfully cheesy. It's got all the elements of a teen drama but tackles the important topics of belonging, community, and acceptance as a gay teen. I will be gifting this book to teens until the day I die.

My new favorite book 💕

Not going to lie I watched the movie first but I like books better because stuff gets cut out of the movie so yeah I’m very excited to read this book.

A gift to humanity

Romance isn't my thing, even when it's just a subplot. But a lot of my friends were telling me to read this, and I'm glad I did.

This is my new favorite book. I finished the whole book in one sitting. I couldn't put this book down. I paused only when my tears made it impossible to read. This book perfectly describes what it is like to be LGBT in high school.

dude seriously if you are into humor and lgbt+ literature and stuff like that read it! its one of my favourite books of all time and its very well written-just just read it seriously.
