The road to perdition is paved with good intention. There was an effort in the 1970's to integrate the various ethnic and racial communities in the Southern California public school system. The resulting culture clash between the coastal beach surf culture and the Hispanic Chicano culture made for some very dramatic and entertaining scenarios. The author's teenage memories of coming of age and growing up in San Diego during that era are a vivid and eye opening first hand account of those events. A fictional short story of confrontations, discrimination, adventure and growing pains. The intention and idea were good, but the execution left a bit to be desired.
