Silver Screen Legends: Hedy Lamarr

Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler was born in Vienna on November 9, 1913. One of the most beautiful women in film, Hedy began her career in 1930 in Czech and German films. She caused international sensation by appearing nude and the resulting notoriety got her called to Hollywood where she was signed by MGM. In 1941, Hedy co-invented an early form of spread spectrum communications technology, a key to modern wireless communication. Lamarr died in Florida on January 19, 2000, and her son took her ashes to Vienna. This release features the four Lamarr features Algiers, The Strange Woman, Dishonored Lady, and Let's Live a Little.

Disc 1 - ALGIERS: (Drama; Film Noir; Mystery) Beautiful Gabby falls under the spell of notorious jewel thief Pepe LeMoko, ruler of the mysterious Casbah.

Disc 2 - THE STRANGE WOMAN: (Drama; Film Noir; Thriller) A woman in a coastal town in Maine uses her beauty to get what she wants. When her drunken father dies she improves her situation and marries a man with money, but does not change her ways.

Disc 3 - DISHONORED LADY: (Crime; Drama) A fashion editor decides the pressure of her work is too much and moves to a small town and changes her identity.

Disc 4 - LET'S LIVE A LITTLE: (Comedy; Romance) An advertising agent is pursued by one of his clients who is also his former fiancee. But when his new client, a psychiatrist, turns out to be a woman, he's not sure if he needs romance or analysis.
