Making school funny again This latest in Dial's series of riddle books is full of stuff kids just can't learn in school. No textbook has the answers to these jokes; no teacher can offer assistance. Kids are strongly encouraged to share their work with others, and the more talking, giggling, and answering out of turn, the better. One tip: If desperate for a hint, illustrations by Elwood H. Smith make for a hilarious cheat sheet.
This is a great book for the youngster with an outrageous sense of humor!

Knock, knock. Who's there? Oops, wrong book, but if you like jokes you probably enjoy riddles as well. You'll enjoy this book because many of these are new and not ones you've heard a thousand times before. Perhaps there are some that you can guess the answer easily, but most of them are a tad more difficult to guess than you'd think. If you memorize all of these, you'll have plenty of riddles to ask your friends! "How did the silly goose get to the school nurse's office so fast?" "Flu!" "Why did the toothbrush wander into band practice?" "It was looking for a tuba toothpaste." Did you guess the answer to either one? The art work in this book is just as zany as the riddles are. The reading level is 2.6 so the reader is most likely one that can read alone, and judging by the vocabulary in this book, may only have to ask help with one or two words. If you have a youngster with a good sense of humor (perhaps an outrageous one), this book would be an excellent choice. "Why did the hungry third grader run into the second-grade classroom?" If you want to know, you'll just have to read this book!
