Inspiration

This book is written to reach out to people who are hurting from similar experiences as the author. Sharing these types of hurtful events makes a difference in healing, and learning to reach out - and to survive no matter what comes into your life. This author just shows a slice of her life when she deals with traumatic struggles - some minor, some major. We all can identify with them, but as Connie Stevens said on a television segment, "There is something for every woman in this book, something to inspire us and encourage us to face the challenges in our lives." Silent Rain is the true story (attested to by some of the therapists who worked with her) of an ordinary woman, living through some ordinary times and some not so ordinary. She did it... and we can do it.

Insightful Human Drama

"Silent Rain" is a thoughtful, well-written account of the author's emergence from the depths of intractable depression. The author survives as a victim of a variety of emotional and physical challenges. Sexual molestation as a child, a series of abusive men, serious medical problems, family losses and the struggle to be an effective single-parent in today's complex society are all presented in stark detail. The author of "Silent Rain" provides a great service by documenting challenges to her own strength and spirit as a model for those who are presently experiencing similar situations. There are many insights here that are fresh and useful. I highly recommend that "Silent Rain" be required reading for all those in the helping professions.

EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALING

Nancy Rawlins' "Silent Rain" is a no-nonsense, heart-rending account of a woman's painful journey toward emotional and spiritual well-being after experiencing the extreme trauma of a childhood rape. It is also a message of hope to those who are suffering from anxiety, self-hate and depression. Answers are possible, healing can begin, life can be good. Nancy is living proof.

A Message For The Heart

This story is one that leads the reader through many of life's trials and tribulations and then brings us to a conclusion of hope. I first learned of the book when celebrity Connie Stevens held it up on her segment on Home Shopping Network. She commented on how inspirational "Silent Rain" was and encouraged everyone interested in a true, encouraging story to purchase it if possible. That intrigued me, I read it, and can attest to this....message for the heart!

There is always hope.

The author has been a friend of mine for over 20 years. I can testify that everything she wrote is true. Her account of her life shines with her strong faith and her determination to survive. It is inspiring, particularly to those who have problems of their own and despair of ever seeing a better day. Her message is simple: There is always hope.
