I loved this allegorical tale of life's challenges and joy. so many of the kids books we bought over the years have the same cookie-cutter ring to them. This book is unique and offers a perspective from a totally different culture. I loved it.

Sikulu and Harambe by the Zambezi River: An African version of the Good Samaritan Story I have three young children, aged eight, seven and five. They all have an interest in world travel and loved the additional content in the back of the book that provides more information. They loved the bright colors and great illustration and we can't wait for the next adventure of Sikulu and Harambe.

As a father with a burgeoning library of children's books, "Sikulu and Harambe - By The Zambezi River" is the very best. Engaging, amusing, and educational, it will keep children young and old returning to it again and again. The illustrations perfectly compliment the unique writing style and every page is filled with information that will allow the reader to discover something new each time he opens the book. The author has included additional information about the story and its setting at that back of the book that makes the characters truly come to life. I've ordered multiple copies for friends, and each time it receives rave reviews. It holds a place on the top of our bookshelf and will continue to be enjoyed for years to come.

I received this book as a gift, along with plush toys of the main characters (Harambe the Hippo & Sikulu the Spider), and my 6-year old loved it! He loved the pictures and learning about another world. As a parent, I especially like the fact that the story teaches a value of being kind to other people. I also liked the glossary at the back of the book with info about various things and places in the book e.g. Zambia, Hippos, Spiders, the ceremony in the book, etc.. Great book, would highly recommend it!
