good book

Has native species but only con is that it doesn't have all tree's in the Sierra Nevada's. Its missing a couple invasive species that I know of. A lot of detailed info on all native species though and good big sketch's.

Easy to use but oriented to the Western Sierras

This is a very concise and easy to use book. However, like many Sierra Nevada natural history books and field guides it is more oriented and useful to the Western Sierra. If you spend most of your time in the Eastern Sierra it may be inadequate or misleading.

Easy to Use

This is the tree guide that was easiest for me to use. I learned more and had more success and less frustration at identifying trees with this book than with most others.

Best Tree Identifier Book Yet!

I have read and used many guide books and this one is one of the best, if not the best, concerning all species of trees found in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It's extremely well done, and I would recommend it to any student of natural history, forestry, or botany no matter their level of academics.
