Side-Effects is a collection of humorous as well as serious modern poems in rhythms called meters. Many of them are inspired by the poetry of Ogden Nash and show how even modern poems can be set to meter and that rhythm can be coupled with, or essential to, creating humor. Traditional forms, like ottava rima, which uses eight-line stanzas, are used, but the poems remain modern, light and entertaining.
