On the war-ravaged planet of Maridivm, the population of the Continent is trapped by a lethal natural phenomenon, barred from ever crossing the sea. Those with power subjugate the inhabitants for resources in an economy dominated by industrial metals and slavery. Amidst a war for power sparked by racial prejudice, all but the rulers become the oppressed. Three humans and an immortal spirit have each made a promise to people they have lost. Promises that no conqueror can make them forsake, may all the dead gods help them. Herein are stories which provide a glimpse of the means by which they intend to fulfill their vows.
And, speaking of (dead?) gods, there seems to be something a bit weirder than talking ferrets and mutagenic magic happening on Maridivm. It's probably nothing to worry about, though.
