Pontalba Press Presents: Short Stories, Volume I offers an eclectic collection of high-quality short fiction ranging from a new twist on Jack the Ripper to an intriguing tale of an abandoned baby at a Cajun village This compilation work features literary and cultural perspectives that deal with an astonishing range of emotions -- love, lust, romance, murderous anger, saintly spirituality, everyday ennui, and more -- all in the context of ordinary people in extraordinary situations.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Being a busy individual, I rarely have time to sit down and read a whole book. This book is perfect for a quick read when one only has a few moments to indulge. I especially liked the story by Julia Kamysz. I would like to read more of her work.
Great collection of short fiction

This engaging anthology by Pontalba Press combines a wide range of styles, and somehow fits them all into a single engrossing collection. Established authors such as O'Neill De Noux, Charles Hebert, and Lisa McCaffety find themselves alongside some of the brightest new talent I've seen. A must-read for lovers of short fiction, and espacially for those who love southern literature.
