Thirty-four-year-old Roy lives in a world where those with powers are seen as monsters. After his awakening, he has been trapped in a fourteen-year-old body, learning that the world sees him as a child and a monster, he closes himself off from everyone. With very few options available to him, Roy became a military operative called a tat, due to the marks that appeared on his body a few years after his awakening. From mission to mission, he stays focused on the task at hand as the pressure of being seen as a monster starts to weigh on him, until he meets a guardian called Bruce.

Twenty years later, Roy starts to realize his relationship with Bruce has changed from a usual guardian and that relationship to something more intimate than either of them expected. Finding out what their relationship means and what they mean for each other, Roy receives a notice from a new guardian named Samuel, who has been assigned to be his guardian while on missions, while Bruce stays as his guardian during his time at home. Trying to keep his work and personal life separate, Roy tries to find a balance between the two, without crossing a line he can't come back from while at home.
