Shivering Mouse Art & Poetry Review is an anthology published Shivering Mouse Publications, a wing of the Shawna E Shea Memorial Foundation Inc. Volume One is a vibrant collection of contemporary poetry from the Shawna Shea Foundation's Library Poetry Tour, showcasing powerful voices exploring identity, memory, resilience, and the artistry of everyday life containing poems by Shawna Shea, Skip Shea, Anna Chinappi, Art Dubois, Joe Fusco, Katie Elizabeth, Catherine Marenghi, Robin Ballou Boucher, Ryk McIntyre, John Edward Keough, Kathleen Stoker, Lea Deschenes, Kris Salvi, Nanayaa Dadzie, Michelle Garcia Fresco, Tony Brown and Victor Infante. On August 11th, 1999 we lost Shawna in a car accident at the age of 16. Who knew that all these years later we would transform this tragedy into an arts and education nonprofit. The Shawna Foundation offers scholarships to academically average students, runs three film festivals, has a podcast, awards the Shawna Foundation Women in Film Fellowship 16 years running, and more. And of course, our poetry program which began three years ago as the Library Poetry Tour. We did this because Shawna was herself a poet. She loved poetry. Actually that description fits just about everyone in our family. So, we decided to launch a publishing wing of the Shawna Foundation. We call it Shivering Mouse Publications, which is taken from a haiku Shawna wrote. We aim to reach a wider audience and in our first publication, share the poetry of all the amazing, wonderful poets who participated in the Library Poetry Tour.We are proud to give you the inaugural Shivering Mouse Review, which we will publish annually. For now. Enjoy the wide range of poetry we've showcased. And maybe it will inspire you to write a verse or two yourself.
