Ship of Fools: An adventure going all wrong

Something went terribly wrong with the Covid-19 vaccination program in the Philippines. An unknown, terribly lethal viral disease of unknown origin threatens the archipelago's population. The government offices appear to be unable to deal with the new situation. Public unrest is the excuse for a military coup. Martial law is declared. On the small fictitious island 'Samburan' in the central Visaya region a group of eight expatriates, mostly senior citizens, decide to leave the island illegally. Every one of these extreme individualists has different reasons, but problems with the partner, unwillingness to accept more restrictions than ever and the general uncertainty about the future are the common denominator of their intentions. They pinch a 50 year old Patrol Boat of the Coast Guard to flee to Malaysia or even Vietnam, but the condition of the engines is reason enough to change their plans...
