It got my husband's attention...

I enjoyed to story line and the character's in the story...but what go my attention is the fact that my husband who dislikes romances sat down and read this story from start to finished..That is one book that has got to be the best in the world. it completely covers the Sci-Fi and romance. If it can hold my husbands attention and keeps his interest without him even once throwing book across the room in disgust.It is a good one.

try this author's other pen names

I just reread Shield's Lady the other day and it is a great book. My copy is printed under the name Jayne Ann Krentz. I have of ton of this woman's stuff. She has written several other sci-fi romances similiar to this one but in different worlds - Orchid, Amarylis, Zinnia, Sweet Starfire, Gift of Gold etc. Some of her new futuristic stuff is being published under the name Jayne Castle. She also writes under the names Amanda Quick (historicals), and Stephanie James (short contemporaries). If you have books of hers under this Glass name they are probably worth much more than cover price!

Sci fi meets romance as only Jayne Anne Krentz can do

A piece of trivia - this book was published in 1989 under Amanda Glass. I read this before I read any Krentz. Like all Krentz books, there are strong, intelligent women, and strong, teachable men. A very satisfying book. PS those that enjoy this side of Krentz will probably like her books written under Jayne Castle.

A new world worth exploring

I find that I keep coming back to this book and re-reading it whenever my life verges on "quiet desperation." I enjoy a great many romance novels, but few that have the ability to take me to a place I would like to be over and over. The basic story of the arrogant, unplacable male disrupted by an independent minded female who hasn't realized her "place" takes on a new slant in this novel, and the science fiction elements add a dimension to the relationship that we all wish we could discover. This book is well worth the try...a look at two sides of life that should add some insight into one's view of society. Like all good romances, this one remains "true to the human heart," and Krentz's futuristic world is well worth the price of the passage
