The purpose of this work is twofold. First and foremost, I've tried to explain the Shev Shmeisisa in a clear style that lends itself to a larger audience of Jewish students and daf yomi warriors. The Shev Shmeisisa analyzes the various types of evidence and mechanisms which the Torah allows us to use in adjudicating cases of Jewish law that involve doubts and complications. It is considered by many as the gold standard in this area of study, and I hope that this work will help to expand the Shev Shmeisisa's reach. Secondly, I have tried to convey the mechanics of Talmud study in a manner that could help many readers jump a level in their learning. For example, if you have a few years of daf yomi experience under your belt (which is a great thing), and you'd like to explore the world of iyun learning, then I hope that Shev Shmeisisa in English will help facilitate that.
