Part one of this book was written during a time in my journey when I could not ignore who I was and where I came from. Many times as I stood to preach, I became increasingly aware that we must share our full personhood and the complexities of life from which we struggle. I needed to share the poverty, insecurity, and fear that lay fixated within the contextual images etched in my memory. So, it is from here that I discuss possible ways of observing African American Pastoral Care. Part two includes the research that has encompassed most of my life, evangelism. After the sudden death of my sister, I could no longer remain quiet about my desire 'that everyone know' the Lord, Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
