Mike McGrath's wife said she would divorce him if he's elected to the board of selectmen, but Mike neither believes she would, nor can he stop his crusade to rid the town of Oakdale of The Castigate Club, an infamous strip club owned by Pat Quinn, an enemy of Mike since high school. The situation explodes when the security guards at the club kill a young college student they claim was acting unruly. After Mike battles Pat Quinn and a couple of his goons in a brawl at the club, he becomes a prime suspect in the murder of one of them that he had fought with.
