Sheikh Saadi Speaks

Sheikh Saadi was a well-known litterateur as well as a great saint and thinker of the 12th century. His works, Gulistan and Bostan, were written in the original Persian language. Sheikh Saadi's educative thoughts have also remained a source of inspiration for the whole world for centuries and are relevant even today after hundreds of years.

He made long journeys to many parts of the Islamic world. Saadi returned to Shiraz (Iran) after a long journey of many years and started writing his famous book, Gulistan, and Bostan. He has provided an instructive description of the various countries' unique and valuable experiences in these. Saadi was not a Sufi like other Persian poets. He was a practical man. Worldly intelligence and prodigious talent present were abundant.

His instructive thoughts have been compiled in the present book. Saadi has filled ocean-like depth in his thoughts threaded in a few words. Each of his thoughts contains an element of mystery that captivates and enthralls the reader.
