He was a Sufi master leader. He successfully managed to bury his saint father in the sacred city of Touba. He financed and supervised the railway projects from Diourbel to Touba, and initiated the construction of the Great Mosque of Touba, a key directive of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, during the global financial crisis of the 1930s. He carried out all of his father's wishes, including uniting the Mourides, caring for his younger siblings, commemorating the Magal of 20 Muharram, and advocating for religious teachings centered on the worship of Allah.
