The Sam family leads a quiet life in suburban Connecticut. They are well-liked and seem to be living the American dream. But when the family suddenly disappears television director Jairus, once close friends with the Sams, rounds up his film crew to find them. Their search leads them to upstate New York where the Sam family has been living in isolation. While Jairus tries to uncover why the Sams turned their backs on their picturesque life, they uncover something shockingly sinister when they begin to believe that the family's patriarch has come under the possession of a supernatural creature.
