This book is a small reflection of the wonders I have seen while visiting China. The religious rites, the festivals, the deliciously seasoned food, and the overwhelming sense of a history, that has remained nearly unchanged for many centuries, enfolds my imagination and continues to draw me into its wonderment. Still, it is the people of China that has captivated more of my mind's eye than anything else. In searching for the right photo (that you see in this book) I always looked for fleeting unguarded moments, and attempted to capture the personal experiences that are indelibly etched on faces, or in scenes, or while observing an activity that happened in real time.
