In my 18 years of advocating to end domestic and sexual violence one question haunts me more than most: "Why does she* stay?"After working with hundreds of women,this is my answer...* Although domestic violence happens to men and women my experience has mainly been with women and advocating on their behalf, thus this book will use the pronoun she.This book intends to shed insight on why a person stays within a domestic violence relationship, but also lends insight as to why she might leave. The hope is to begin a community conversation on how best to end domestic violence within our communities.
