Shattered Pieces: Regrets

Stan Tennyson, his wife, Cindy, and four-year-old daughter, Missy, live blissfully in their dream home in Owensboro, Kentucky until....... Cindy makes a trip to the market for some popcorn that Stan was hankering for and encounters a rapist who has just been released from prison. He is lying in wait for a woman, any woman, and Cindy becomes his victim. He rapes her and then beats her nearly to death and does cause the death of her unborn fetus. She survives, but her marriage doesn't. Stan says he can't even look at her, much less touch her, without seeing her with her attacker which leaves her to face the pain, the nightmares and all the horrific memories alone. Stan begins staying away and when he does come home, sleeps in the guest room. He basically ignores his wife and his daughter as well. Sweethearts through high school, Stan & Cindy were each other's first and only lovers. Stan decides now, that since Cindy has had another man, he is entitled to experience another woman and he allows his hooker mistress, Kay, to move in with him. When Missy overhears a fight between her Mom and Dad, she decides to run away from home. Later on, when Stan is beginning to come to his senses and throws Kay out, she plots the kidnapping of Missy in revenge for his perceived mistreatment of her. Cindy is shot trying to foil the kidnapping of her daughter. Is there any way for Stan to redeem himself in the eyes of his wife? Will Missy be found or is she gone forever? Will Cindy recover from the gunshot wound and, if she does, will she ever walk again? Will the kidnappers be brought to justice? Other infidelities, divorces and life-style changes are on the agenda. Can Stan and Cindy put back together the shattered pieces of their lives?
