When aspiring young journalist Amber Groves acquires a job as a radio presenter on a prime time slot at a successful radio station aimed at the older age groups, her fellow radio presenters, other station staff, and listeners are sceptical. In order to prove herself in her ability as a presenter and her knowledge of the music and artists of that era, Amber undertakes a challenge proposed by a listener to trace the members of a well-loved, forgotten rock band of the 1990s.

Shards Of Porcelain sees Amber's journey as she continues her quest to track down the five bandmates, the challenges she faces in doing so, and the lives of the former rock stars after the spotlight has faded.
