Shaping My Identity is a fictional memoir about growing up in Guyana. Sumitra Gallenger (Sue) lives with her Aunt and Uncle, her Granny and an older cousin (by 6 years) in the village of Triumph. As the years pass, Sue moves to another village and tells stories about village life and the influx of people from other areas and countries. At the end of each chapter are questions and topics for discussion, as well as new vocabulary. This is an ideal book for classroom instruction
