Since reading your book and imlementing a few of your ideas I have never been so busy - starting at 7:30 am often going to 8:00 pm (one night it was 11:00 pm ) Have you got any advice on how to slow down?

This book is the REAL DEAL

Dr. Lycka's book "Shaping A New Image: The Practice Of Cosmetic Surgery" is the real deal. In 300+ erudite pages it covers the subject from A to Z replete with answers to question you never new to ask. It is loaded with practical tips that can be immediately implemented into your practice. This is a must read at any stage of your career. I was amazed at the depth of coverage and the clarity of Barry's problem solving. After finishing the book I don't know how he found time to put all this sage advice into print. His golden rules in the summary are good reminders and worth the price of the book alone.

Learn The Trade Not The Tricks of The Trade

Dr. Lycka visits a very important subject either not well taught in medical schools or not taught at all. The business of cosmetic medicine need no longer be learned by innuendo and hearsay. Here, in 304 pages, he spells out information which takes at least ten years off the learning curve. He does this in a clear and precise manner yet includes the humor so often missing in similar texts, if you can find them. I have put into practice some of Dr.Lycka's approaches which have already paid dividends in my office. These more then cover the cost of this reasonably priced book.

Cosmetic surgery is a business, but one which very few have had the insight to write about. Barry lycka has done that... magnificently.

Dear All -I just inished reading "Shaping A New Image" by Barry Lycka, This is a delightful read that definitely focuses you on anumber of practice development related issues. Although aimed at those developing a cosmetic practice, the practice management pearls would be a benefit to all physicians, not only dermatologiststs, plastic surgeons, facials plastic surgeons and occuloplastic surgeons, though they would probably benefit the most. A practical down to earth handbook of practice management and development tips, pearls and guidelines, it should be required reading in reidency and fellowship training programs. Well done, Dr. Lycka!
