Where was this book when I was growing up?

At last a book that allows kids to be comfortable about their bodies, regardless of their shape. It also conveys to kids that there are many routes (musical, artistic, academic, athletic)to become stars. Imagine kids accepting other kids because of their variety of talents and the content of their character. The image makers in Hollywood are not going to like this. As a school principal, I cannot wait to get this book into the hands of my guidance counselors. This is a "must read" for anyone over the age of five.

Wonderful.

As a teacher, I have found this book to be a wonderful tool for addressing issues of self-image and diversity in the classroom. The illustrations are incredible!!

It's Great

I bought this book for my neice and she loves it. There were no books on this subject for her reading level until now. I am very happy that someone has finally realized the need for a book addressing younger kids. I can't wait to see more books out there addressing this issue. Whoever these people are, they really know how to reach kids! I think is book is great.

Oustanding book to teach children about diversity!

Shapesville is a great tool for helping kids talk about what makes each of them unique. The discussion questions at the end of the book provide a great medium to bring up issues of diversity. This book can be used to talk about color differences, shape differences, differences in skills and abilities, mental and physical differences and much, much, more. It is a fun read that kids will enjoy!

Exciting new children's book...

Shapesville is a book that's great for both children and adults! This book helps parents or teachers generate open disussion relating to many issues, including diversity, eating disorders, and the influences of media. I highly recommend it!
