I've had to buy a new book in the three or so months we've had it because my 1 1/2-year-old loves it so much. I wanted to have a nice one for taking on outings (church, doctor's, etc.) We take it everywhere we need to sit quietly. He is always asking for his 'Papes' and plays with the book every day, and is learning to say the shape names. The shapes fit into a foam page at the back of the book, and it was easy for my son to learn where each shape went. There is also a place on each spread to place the shape (not as a puzzle as in the back--just a picture of the shape to lay the piece on). The pictures are bright and colorful. Even when new toys are available, my son will continue playing with this book. Now his new trick is to intentionally put the shapes in the wrong places, and then quickly change them to the right place. Maybe the pages could have been a bit sturdier, and I don't think the spiral construction is best for toddlers, but I would still highly recommend this book. I also recommend the others in the 'Let's Play' series. These books would be best used with supervision as there are moving parts, and pieces which could get lost.
