Shape Towns is a simple but insightful story about a hexagon named Hexner who is trying to find the place where he fits in. He travels to towns of many shapes, but none that are right for him. In the end, he discovers that "fitting in" is not necessarily about being like everyone around you.
Written and illustrated by 10-year-old Theresa Parilla more than 40 years ago, Shape Towns is a tale ahead of its time. It shows young children that we can find happiness among diversity and teaches the value of being accepted and accepting of others - regardless of our look, shape, or color.
