Shangri-la is reached after travel, study, and work around the world from Yemen to Honduras. Work is on the frontier of Northern Australia and across the Canadian Arctic from the Yukon to the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Ancient civilisations of Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras as well as Egypt and the Yemen are studied while working as Archaeological Lecturer and Tour Leader. In Yemen the fascinating Bilqis, Queen of Sheba, is looked at and her great Ma'rib Dam. There is a letter from Egypt with a sketch of the Pyramids. Other letters are on smoking to a daughter in Australia. A chapter is about my father's war on the Gold Coast and in Burma. In California there is an escape from the Moonies. A journey through Portuguese Timor, Bali, and Java reaches India on a ship filled with pilgrims. A concluding fictional story is about a tiny glass bottle.
