Shame, Shame, Go Away: Together We Can Walk Through It

Shame is not logical. To a spectator, a cause of shame might look trivial, but the spectator does not count. It is the person suffering the shame that counts. Telling a person that their shame is silly or illogical is not helpful. The heart is not that simple. Life stirs up shame in unexplainable ways, so always be gentle and kind with hurting people, especially yourself.

Most of us would never inflict the harsh pain of shame onto another person. Yet, we inflict it on ourselves. There is hope. We don't have to beat ourselves down. We don't have to live with our shame in pain forever. Together, we can walk through the valley of the shadow of shame, and enjoy a better life on the other side.
