Shakib Al Hasan (born 24 March 1986) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and left-handed orthodox spinner. He is the captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team in Test and T20 international editions till October 26, 2019. Considered as the greatest cricketer to play for Bangladesh, Shakib is considered as one of the best all-rounders in the world. Shakib, who holds the record for top all-rounder for 10 years, still holds the highest ranking in the ODI and Test format.

He made his ODI debut in August 2006 against Zimbabwe. Shakib is an alumnus of Bangladesh Institute of Sports Education (BKSP). Shakib became the number one all-rounder in January 2015 as the first and only cricketer in every edition of Test, ODI and T20 cricket according to the ICC Player Rankings. He became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4,000 in one-day cricket and became the highest individual run scorer (216) in a Test on 13 January 2016. He became the second Bangladeshi batsman to score 1000 runs in T20I He also became the second all-rounder to score 1,000 runs and take 50 wickets in T20I. In June 2019, he became the fastest player to score 5,000 runs and take 250 wickets in just 199 matches.
