Better than the first half

This second half of Shai's world is more satisfying than the first half. While this is a pretty good story it leaves too much to the imagination on the future of Shai's character. Enjoyable, as it is written in the style of C J Cherryh, not quite satisfying as if it were her story. Really two novellas that would make one smallish novel by today's standards. It feels like there should be a part three to be complete... But I haven't found a clue that one exist. But if you are a Cherryh addict like me, you will still enjoy this story.
