Shadows of DarknessPrior to July 2007, Pastor Ricky Hunt, Sr. had experienced the many joys of life without any legal complications. As a pastor, he recalls preaching about the imprisonment of Joseph, Paul, Silas, and Peter in the Bible. He had not personally experienced their storylines, but he had preached about how unfair it was for these great men to be sentenced to prison for preaching the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

However, Pastor Hunt was met with a prison experience that derailed fifteen years of his life. He states, he has worn fashionable suits and shoes, but never dreamed he would be forced to wear an orange prison jumpsuit and brown prison shoes during any portion of his life. He was humbled by the chains that bound him, how he was treated like a nobody, the isolation from family, being sentenced to two hundred thirty-five days in solitary confinement, and the open-heart surgery he underwent while serving his sentence-all due to a miscarriage of justice.
