Shadowed Realities

The occasional shadow will pass over all us at sometime and we will stand within it, viewing the world through the gloom. Generally the shadows pass and life refocuses and the light prevails. At other times, for some people the shadows remain shading what they think, what they feel, what they believe, how they perceive the world, events and others. Shadowed therefore seemed to be an appropriate word to describe the general sense and mood of these poems. Though their subject matter, form, length and themes are different they reflect a point of view and mindset that has remained remarkably unchanged over an entire adult lifetime. Shadowed Realities brings together the poems published in the five thematic volumes Shadowed Souls Shadowed Hearts Shadowed Minds Shadowed Reflections Shadowed Lives Through the use of allegorical figures and autobiographical refection it is hoped that in this anthology readers will recognise aspects of their own experiences or of others they know. It is also hoped it will bring some enjoyment and trigger discussion, debate and reflection.
