Good read!

Great book. Give me more please? Tilly in AZ

This book is proof that a true wordsmith, is at work

Not normally a romance reader as such, I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of feeling this book ellicited.I was shocked at the barbarism and cruelty of life under apartheid. Ms Jardin has brought the characters and their situation to life.Their triumph over adversity and pure unjust, racial hatred, was a welcome conclusion to an inspirational novel.Does not deserve to be labelled as a romance, more perhaps, as a chronicle of a time and societal attitude, we can all hope is never repeated. Well done Ms Jardin!!! Eagerly look forward to your next book.

Powerful

I admired Bonny's courage and determination. I felt her disgust at the discrimination and segregation and felt Abe's struggle and pain. Great writer. Tracy K.

Love triumphs over adversity.

Ms Jardin's book is a powerful and often disturbing portrayal of racial discrimination, where the forbidden love of a young man and woman triumphs over bigotry. It is a romance, but a romance with a difference. There are 'uncomfortable' scenes in this book, but nevertheless they are integral to the plot and only highlight the courage and determination of the two lead characters in their quest for love and a life together free of the social restraints placed upon them. This book deserves a wide audience. I think it would make an exceptional film.

An eye opener

This story made me realize there are countries besides the US with racial problems. We hear so little about South Africa. Well written book. It stirred my emotions. Because of my own circumstances I felt closely connected to Bonnie and Abe. I'd like to read more by this author.
