In 2947 A.C. The Terran Federation is an exciting place to be. It embraces almost 2000 planets. It has powerful neighbors, coveting our space. The Navy has to be strong and vigilant.Professor Jalen Herrina is a passenger on her employer's ship enroute to Tadrell when an alien fleet surrounds the planet. They flee and are pursed by an alien warship. Their ship is rescued by a Terran Navy task force commanded by Admiral Shan Arens, her former lover. The aliens delivered a million amiable, apparently harmless, and primitive aliens onto Tadrell then vanished. Evidence suggests they used wormholes to jump across the galaxy to deliver these harmless aliens. It becomes the Navy's top priority to find this race, determine its intentions, and unravel the secret of wormhole travel.Jalen's first meeting with Shan is a surprise. Emotions she thought long gone flare into brilliance. The unwanted submission that drove her from him years ago reasserts itself with a vengeance. Her job and career pale into insignificance. Her only goal is to again become his submissive lover. She agrees to interview the peaceful aliens now on Tadrell so she can stay with the fleet and her master. Its not even clear the Rill think of it as a war. Their staggering numerical superiority continues to absorb the relative pinpricks of the Alliances weapons without pausing in their advance. Their fleets contain millions of ships and are continually reinforced by the efforts of thousands of planets each one enormously larger the alliance's. Every month, more alliance worlds are overrun by the Rill Hordes and more planets added to their empire. The Alliance continues to try and slow the Rill advance while using their newly enhanced women's fantastic intelligence to search for more effective weapons to use to stop the Rill. It becomes a war of attrition with the Rill largely ignoring the Alliance. It will take every skill of warfare the Alliance races have developed over their history to slow or stop the Rill.When not hard at work the women learn ever better ways to enjoy their new found submissiveness and become conditioned to their inevitable slavery. Terra's overwhelming new weapon promises to finally make it a fair fight with the Rill, but its operational limitations require close combat with the myriad Rill ships. The first Rill swarm is decisively defeated, but it was a close call and Second Fleet takes grievous losses. Jalen is sent to the Coalen Slave Training class. It was well known that their trained slaves were the best. For the first time since being collared, she felt the true weight of the band on her neck. She was owned and loved her owner, no, worshiped him. She was being trained to treat him as he deserved, her God.. She wept tears of joy.Nothing pressurizes weapon development like war.
