Once again, Nosferatu rises to the top of our consciousness. This time in the form of a "making of". What if F.W. Murnau used a real vampire in the making of his movie? It is best to view the original movie first for a frame of reference.
The concept is very original, and the execution is quite good. There are no overwhelmingly gory scenes to distract from the premise, and there are enough spooky scenes to keep your attention.
There are two major negatives to the DVD. One of the great a-d-v-a-n-t-a-g-e-s of DVDs is that they go back to presenting movies without a bunch of a-d-v-e-r-t-i-s-e-m-en-t-s for coming attractions for mouthwash. Well, you cannot escape them on this DVD. Your only recourse is "fast forward". The thing that makes DVDs great is the extra goodies, such as voice-over commentary that gives you insight into what you may have missed or not known about the movie. This commentary gives you more insight than you want. It makes E. Elias Merhinge seem pompous and overbearing. The movie is forced to have symbols and scenes to give it an in-depth quality. Despite this, the movie turned out to be very watchable.
This movie will make a good addition to your Nosferatu collection.
