Fast Paced Engaging Medieval Mystery for Youth

If you are looking for a fast-paced morally straight book for a young male reader: you have found it here. Young Xan has lost his memory after a fall when returning to his village which has been looted and burned. Taken in by kind monks, Xan builds a new life but wonders about the family he left behind. Unexpectedly, the peaceful monastery erupts with violence and a shadowy ghostly figure who comes at night. Is this an outside invader or someone from within the monastic community? Very well-written, this book holds your interest to the end as you struggle with Xan both to unravel the clues to his past and figure out the present mystery.
