While Wren and Marie get to know the rebels around them, they begin to realize that the Fate has plans for them which may be more than they bargained for. As the nation is pushed closer to war, Wren's new team battles against their own demons as well as the authorities closing in on them. And the future of Veranick's citizens, both the living and those in the afterlife, hangs in the balance.
