Thought I Was Reading Zane's Book

I really enjoyed this book. The sex scenes were hot! I didn't think they were degrading or slutty, they were entertaining like reading Zane's novels. The book was actually looking at the different women's relationship issues. Each women had a different issue. It went through their individual story and at the end told what they learned throughout their experiences. I laughed out loud on many parts. It was just a very enjoyable read for me, and I have never heard of this book. I just stumbled up on it, and I am glad I did.

A black man's Point of view

I purchased this book after meeting the author, I initially thought it was another ( all black men are dogs and no good ) type of book, but found that was not true, the characters male and female were interesting and the storylines were diverse, I happen to know several male and females with whom these characters could have been modeled after with very similar life experiences, finally someone showing that some black women could be just as cunning and selfish as some black men, not in a bad way but in a really thoughtful manner. I look forward to reading Ms. Reed next piece of work.

Too Hot!

This book was wicked! The sex scenes were so detailed, and raw. The stories were told with a lighthearted, funny touch. At the end, I loved the Epilogue. Often when I read novels, it doesn't give you a look into the future. I loved the "One Year Later" approach and seeing what the girls were up to now. I had to hide it from my ten year old daughter....LOL. I laughed, got upset and shook my head at the characters. Each story was a new experience. To the writer: More, please!

GREAT SISTA STORY!

As a black single woman the book Sex and the single sister defined some of the issues that I went through with men. Each story was quick and to the point. There was no dead dialogues or boring characters.Any woman thats African American and single should buy his book because not only is it enjoyable;but it displays the truth of the single life for most sistas.I will wait for the sequel.GREAT BOOK!

Loved it!

First I would like to start off by congratulating Maryann Reid on an excellent job of networking for her first novel, and she is extremely personable. I was very impressed and thoroughly enjoed this book. I read it in less than 8 hours, and did not want to put it down. From one story to the next it kept me entertained, and in some cases with my mouth dropping to the floor. I was eager to see the outcome of each story, and felt like I was there with the characters. In addition Ms. Reid did a great job of marketing and interconnecting for her book. If you like Eric Jerome Dickey, Virginia DeBerry, Donna Grant, Sharon Mitchell,Sheneska Jackson and Pearl Cleage, you cant pass up this read.
