A guide for the Journey

This was my first encounter with Gerard Hughes. He has guided me through Lent for the last 2 years and I have learned from him to be gentle with myself and thus to catch a glimmer of God's gentleness with us all. I felt as if the author was speaking directly to my heart and I felt confident that he knew well the path we were now walking together, as well as having glimpsed the destination. He admits freely his own trepidations and weaknesses. Yet through his genuineness and humility, one is drawn to his vision, his sense of the HOLY and how it meshes with our humanity. Having found a worthy guide in this author, I highly recommend both him and this book.
