SEVEN DAYS OF ASHES is a Poetry Book on the 'Spirit of the Holocaust' by Irish Poet - Alan Patrick Traynor One day, just one lone step out of the blue, and he appeared: Felix Nussbaum. That was the epiphany and the delving dance engaged, the first inspired tiptoe to get deeply involved with the Holocaust. His art was stunning, inspired, it crippled me into its folding needles, the 'spear in my spine' stood up! I was mesmerized by this man's bravery and commitment to Art, and when I say Art, I mean it bled into the nib of my soul. The 'Unnamed Woman of Belżec' had also become a strong presence in my daily writing, I had found her in a photograph before she was about to be shot dead. There is no recorded name for her, I had checked everywhere! I also had a very intense dream one night while in the process of it all, and heard 'one single voice' of the Holocaust say: "You will never be the same after writing this book!" I owe my life as a Poet to Felix Nussbaum and the 'Unnamed Woman of Belżec', they thought me that Art is "real" and that paint is just another word for blood. There is an immortal kind of canvas that lives within us, the thread that God has made as an imprint into our DNA, the unbearable unremovable. Alan Patrick Traynor Dublin Ireland-?ire
