Andrew Taylor is a dedicated police officer with many years' service. Though, since his divorce he has descended into a pattern of alcoholism and reckless behaviour.
One day, whilst on duty, he is subjected to a vicious assault. His attacker is arrested, however, during his rehabilitation, Taylor discovers that due to technicalities his attacker walked free from court.
Enraged by this, Taylor enters a nocturnal world, where his only goal is to seek revenge on the man who attacked him and escaped justice.
But Taylor doesn't stop there and goes on a rampage bringing justice to those he feels deserve it.

SETTLING THE SCORE is the first novel by the writer John T. Leonard, and this is the second edition of the novel that has been described as:

About the author
John T. Leonard has worked for the emergency services for over twenty-five years. His first writing project, a contemporary horror tale, commenced in 2005 but was interrupted when fatherhood beckoned and was never finished. Unfortunately, given certain events since then, it may now be lost forever.
More recently, having discussed this lost project with a friend, it was suggested that he begin afresh. This led to the semi-autobiographical story, SETTLING THE SCORE, being released in 2017.
Since then, Leonard has written continuously and has completed numerous projects spanning several genres. With SCARRED marking his thirteenth released title.
Leonard primarily writes crime thrillers which, in part, draw on his true-life experiences. But, as he is an avid science-fiction and superhero fan, he has also created an original superhero which features as a recurring character in his HEART OF A LION saga which is targeted at a younger audience. Whilst THE ARC, which is a children's fantasy tale, was born from a premise as suggested by his young daughter, only to be written and completed in time for her eleventh birthday.
